2D is a defect of cinema. If you want to become fluent in the language of 3D from a practical standpoint this is the best place to start. This book is in a class of it's own in terms of volume of quality up to date information on technologies involved in the 3D production market. In fact it's so dense it reads like a textbook and will live on the shelf for future reference.Aside from the expert tips and concept explanations there is also an important section on the creative application of this language through the various schools of thought. Some people will always hate on 3D but the true creative visionaries will accept it as the future of the young artform as they did with color and sound. Eventually technology will only make 3D more seamless and effortless. Even Wim Wenders arguably one of the most visionary auteur directors today has become an unofficial spokesman for 3D.As Ray Zone says 2D is a defect of cinema.
