The 4rth sick twisted edition to Jigsaw's legacy. Quick review.SAW 4 is unique in the fact that there is a weird twist..as it is the only time this type of twist is used. But the film really adds onto the SAW series. And adds meaning to it. You also find out what made the average John Kramer /jigsaw the serial killer. You also witness his very first game. So this film is unique to say the very least.
nowhere else
Saw IV So we knew that Jigsaw was dead at the end of Saw III but would happen next? Saw IV was creative in the sense that the events would take place parallel to the events in Saw III. The beginning of the movie with Detective Hoffman listening to the tape left for him by Jigsaw made you think one thing but by the end it was a whole other story. Jigsaw's background was revealed alongside with his wife Jill Tuck. Agent Straum was a great character to introduce as he looks deeply into the Jigsaw case. Overall Saw IV may not have had the feel of the Saw IIII but it did deliver.
Weakest of the series. I kind of stopped caring about this franchise after I saw V. As a matter of fact after I saw III I wondered what the point of any subsequent sequels would be considering the main antagonist was now dead. I finally sat down to watch Saw VI recently and was surprised at how good it was especially when compared to the previous two entires. Just a genuinely gripping horror/thriller movie. IV and V are in my opinion the weakest of the series but I like V slightly better than IV. So here I am reviewing IV.I guess I'm a fan of this series considering I'd award the weakest entry three stars. It's not a BAD movie some scenes are pretty good and stack up with the best of what the rest of the Saw franchise has to offer. It's just that the overall plotline doesn't do much to warrant being its' own movie. Remove all the filler parts and IV and V could have been consolidated into one pretty good movie. As it stands we're stuck with two middle movies that are halfgood/halfpointless.Lyriq Bent delivers a solid performance as Lieutenant Rigg too bad for him that his game story arc is the weakest of the seven movies. Tobin Bell is great as always. There's blood and guts abound. Other than all that that's it. There's really no point in watching this movie unless you're a fan of the series and are interesting in absolutely all the details of why John became Jigsaw.
He May Be Dead But His Work Will Continue Here we have the fourth installment of the Saw movies. If you have not watched the previous three please do so before watching this one or else it will be extremely confusing. Although a prequel in many ways Saw IV also ties in with Saw III thus continuing the chain. I've had to watch this one a few times before actually being able to absorb everything that happened. Saw IV makes you think and analyze a lot more than the previous movies because there are so many flashbacks from past to present and so many twists that it can boggle the mind. But once you wade through everything mentally you'll find that Saw IV is a brilliant horror film complete with a decent storyline plenty of gore and new traps. There is so much going on in this film that I'll try to break it down as best I can.John Kramer/Jigsaw Tobin Bell is dead and we get to see a rather graphic autopsy performed on his body. A tape is found in John's stomach to which Lt. Mark Hoffman Costas Mandylor plays and hears the chilling voice of Jigsaw. The things he says are truly epic for this film. We saw Lt. Hoffman for a short time in Saw III and now he's one of the most important characters for Saw IV. It's not long before Hoffman is seemingly kidnapped by someone in the notorious pig mask the story behind the pig mask will be revealed too that we've seen in the previous movies. The movie also revolves around Lt. Daniel Rigg Lyriq Bent. Like Hoffman he's appeared in the previous film as well and now his character takes a giant leap into the spotlight. After finding Detective Allison Kerry Dina Meyer dead it is clear that Rigg is the last man standing as everyone has kept dying around him. Rigg has become obsessed with saving everyone which will soon become part of the new Jigsaw game he will be put into. After being attacked in his own home Rigg wakes up to find out on a t.v. screen that Eric Matthews Donnie Wahlberg is still alive even after being missing for 6 months. He is hanging by his neck hands shackled his feet balancing on a huge block of slowly melting ice. Next to Matthews is Hoffman gagged and bound to a chair that's near water. Their fates are linked together and the ice block and chair are like a balance. If Matthews steps off the block of ice the chair that Hoffman is sitting in will sink down into water from the melted ice which is hooked to high voltage and will electrocute him.Rigg has but 90 minutes to go through a series of tests in order to save Matthews and Hoffman. Will Rigg trust the people in the traps to fend for themselves or will his obsession to save everybody make matters worse? It starts with his test called See What I See where there is a shady woman named Brenda whose hair is twisted in the gears of a device.
Solid Saw Movie This review is for the blu ray product AND the movie itself.Saw IV on blu ray is great. Apart from some grain or other small hardly noticeable goofs this is a great film in high definition. The sound music/ sound effects was great. The Unrated Director's Cut of the film in blu ray means more footage of violence in more detail making the squeamish cringe more. The special features are great and numerous including audio commentaries and several the making of footage of traps props and the Director's Diary which explains the making of the film from the Director's point of view. All in all a great horror experience. The film itself is actually better than many say it is. With many film franchises it's difficult to please EVERYONE. Obviously film critics were not the intended audience. This film is intended for fans of the series gore plot twists and watching your friends cringe. Fans of the series will love the traps returning characters and the addition of more of Jigsaw's back story. People can also enjoy this movie just for the horror because there's plenty of it while not caring about the plot. There are also plenty of clever twists and revelations that should satisfy people who like surprises.Although compared to the others of the series its not the best it is still a better move than given credit for. People that criticize it for having a confusing story shouldn't complain because they are watching a fourth movie in a series and expect to know everything thats going on. People that don't like the acting have standards too high for scary movie acting you try being a normal person pretending to be in very desperate situations and see how convincing you are.
great movie i personally love the saw movies this movie was great got here quick was affordable and was in brand new condition when i got it.
Saw IV DVD Very quick shipping. Was hopping to receive before christmas and did. THis completed the set I was getting for my husband. Thank you. Soooo much. Was in excellent condition.
What a way to keep the franchise going The story keeps getting better and better as Jigsaw is portrayed more in each sequel. Officer Rigg clearly had issues by not letting go of the past something many of us face at one point in our lives. His game was interesting and there was an amazing ending I didn't see coming. Saw IV may not have been the best in the series but the writers kept the ball rolling and did it effectively.
Good movie damaged Blu Ray I purchased this item over Amazon a phew weeks ago. I was not able to try it until today. I was looking forward to watching it but it turned out the Blu Ray was damages and was not read by 3 Blu Ray Players and 2 PS3 systems. The movie itself is good though have seen it like 2 times.
